Terms and Conditions

This page sets out the Terms and Conditions governing your use of Lumine. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please refrain from using Lumine's services.

General

  • These Terms and Conditions govern the use of all services and features available on the Lumine website.
  • By using Lumine's services, you consent to Lumine using the information you provide for purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
  • These Terms and Conditions may be modified, amended, added, removed, or corrected at any time, and any changes will take effect from the moment Lumine declares them effective or at another time determined by Lumine. Lumine will provide notifications of any changes to these Terms and Conditions.

Account Usage (Mentors + Mentees)

Account users are prohibited from:

  • Selling or lending their accounts to third parties.
  • Committing unlawful acts, fraud, harassment, or any other inappropriate conduct.
  • Using accounts in ways that may cause damage or losses to Lumine.
  • Copying, reproducing, publishing, or fully distributing any material presented on this site in any way or through any medium, except for personal and non-commercial use.
  • Contacting a Mentor or a Mentee for any purpose other than discussing their own booking, without prior written approval from Lumine.
  • Using Lumine to request, make, or accept bookings independent of Lumine.
  • Requesting, accepting, or making any payments for mentoring sessions outside of Lumine.

By using Lumine, you warrant that all information provided during the account registration process is correct and can be fully accounted for.

Service Termination

Lumine reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts and user access to services at any time, including but not limited to the following circumstances:

  • Lumine believes that you have violated any obligations under these Terms and Conditions.
  • Lumine assumes that you are using the account in bad faith.

Confidentiality

  • Lumine may request your personal information, including but not limited to your name, contact information, and/or financial details. All personal information will be handled, used, maintained, and kept confidential in accordance with applicable laws.
  • You agree to use the personal information of other parties obtained from the site or through the use of Lumine's services solely for the purpose of interacting with them concerning the services.

Limitation of Liability

  • You acknowledge and understand that Lumine and its affiliates do not guarantee that the services provided will be error-free.
  • You agree that Lumine is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of its services.

Governing Law

Miscellaneous

  • All disputes shall first be resolved by way of negotiation to reach an amicable resolution, and if no resolution is reached, the dispute will be settled through arbitration in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
  • By continuing to use this site after changes have been made, you agree to the revised Terms and Conditions established by Lumine.

Booking & Payment

  • Mentoring sessions are conducted online. Mentees can choose the duration of each session.
  • Mentoring prices vary based on the mentor's level of experience.
  • If payment is not completed within the given timeframe, the booking will be automatically canceled.
  • Prices listed on mentors' profiles do not include VAT.
  • Mentoring sessions must be booked at least 12 hours in advance.
  • The session room is accessible 10 minutes before the session starts.
  • A 15-minute tolerance is allowed for late arrivals.
  • If a mentee is more than 15 minutes late, the mentor has the right to decide whether to extend the session or not.
  • If a mentee fails to show up, the session will be terminated with no refund.
  • If a mentor is late, the mentee can reach out via the chatroom on the "Session Detail" page or contact our admin team at outreach@luminementors.com

Rescheduling Policy

  • To reschedule a session, the mentee must first cancel the existing booking.
  • Sessions can be canceled by clicking "Cancel Session" on the "Session Detail" page.
  • Rescheduling is allowed up to 12 hours before the session start time.
  • Mentees can rebook using tokens received from cancellation through the home page of "Session Detail" page without additional payment.

Cancellation Policy

  • Both mentees and mentors can cancel a session.
  • Mentees can cancel a session by clicking "Cancel Session" on the "Session Detail" page.
  • Cancellation must be made at least 12 hours before the session start time.
  • If a mentor cancels a session, the mentee will receive an email explaining the reason for cancellation.
  • If a session is canceled by either the mentee or mentor, the refund will be issued as a token, not cash. This token can be used to book a new session without additional payment. Mentees can choose a different mentor when rescheduling.

Multisession Package

  • A multisession package allows mentees to purchase multiple mentoring sessions at a discounted rate, with the flexibility to book anytime within six months from the purchase date.
  • Multisession packages vary based on session duration and mentors' level of experience.
  • For any given multisession package, mentees can switch between mentors with the same experience level. For example, if a mentee purchases a Regular Mentor package, they can choose different mentors at the Regular level for every session.
  • A multisession package is valid for six months from the purchase date.
  • Sessions booked through a multisession package can be rescheduled and canceled under the same terms as single-session bookings.

For Mentors

Mentoring

When signing up, mentors must provide the following details:

  • Field of expertise or profession
  • Work experience and academic background (can be imported from LinkedIn)
  • Personal bio
  • Mentoring schedule
  • Mentors can update this information at any time.
  • Mentors can adjust their preferred mentoring duration: 30, 60, or 90 minutes.
  • Once your profile is activated by the admin, it will be visible at www.luminementors.com
  • Mentees must book sessions at least 12 hours in advance.
  • Mentors will receive an email notification when a mentee books their session.
  • Mentors can communicate with mentees through the chatroom on the "Session Detail" page.
  • Mentors can access their mentoring room 10 minutes before the session starts. Mentoring room can be accessed through the Admin Dashboard.

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

  • Both mentors and mentees can cancel a mentoring session.
  • While mentors can update their mentoring schedule at any time, this does not automatically cancel existing bookings. Mentors must manually cancel any booked sessions if needed.
  • Mentees can cancel a session up to 12 hours before the session start time.
  • Mentors can cancel a session at any time, but we strongly recommend avoiding cancellations less than 12 hours before the session start time.
  • If a mentor cancels a session, they are required to inform the mentee about the reason for cancellation.
  • Canceling a session may result in losing a client, as mentees have the option to reschedule with a different mentor at no additional cost.

Leave & Resignation Policy

  • If a mentor plans to take leave, they must notify the admin team in advance.
  • During the leave period, the admin will set the mentor's status to inactive, and their profile will be hidden from the mentee's page.
  • If a mentor resigns, the admin will delete their account profile.
  • Any remaining earnings from profit-sharing will be disbursed as soon as possible upon submitting a leave or resignation request.

Profit-Sharing Policy

  • Mentor pricing is based on two categories: Top Mentor and Regular Mentor
  • Top Mentors have 5+ years of experience in their field and primary mentoring topic. Regular Mentors have less than 5 years of experience.
  • Mentors receive [...]% of the session fee, excluding taxes.
  • Profit sharing is processed after the mentoring session is completed.
  • Mentor earnings are disbursed monthly on the [...] If a mentor requires an early payout due to an emergency, they can contact the admin at outreach@luminementors.com
